Empowering Americans to Live Free.

Attorney General Edwin Meese III, ACRU Director
“As Attorney General in the Reagan Administration, I committed myself to conserving and expanding freedom. It was my position that our Constitution, its text, and the original intention behind it, demanded nothing less. To argue otherwise would be to risk, as Abraham Lincoln said, “blowing out the moral lights around us.”
That’s why I’ve, again, taken up my sword in defense of our Constitution and am fighting a very real and present danger to our nation. I serve on the board of an efficient and important organization, the American Constitutional Rights Union. I believe strongly that partnered with ACRU we have a real chance to preserve the freedoms and liberties we hold dear.”

The State of the Union Ain’t Strong and Certainly Not Getting Stronger
Listening intently to Biden's address, it appears that the answer to everything is more government intervention and control.
Real and Current Threats to Our Democracy
Before anyone's head explodes, I firmly realize that America is a Constitutional Republic with a representative democracy as our means of giving citizens a voice.
Separation of Church and State
Separation of Church and State does not mean we separate our Constitutional Republic from its Judeo-Christian faith heritage.
ACRU’s Blackwell: Democrats Pull Hat Trick With Dishonest Voting Rights Bill
Democrats are pushing another federal takeover of elections with the so-called John Lewis Voting Right Advancement Act. This one is a power grab forcing states to get permission from the Democrat-controlled federal government before implementing election integrity measures like voter ID and other constitutional safeguards.
The Other Voting Right: Protecting Every Citizen’s Vote by Safeguarding the Integrity of the Ballot Box
There is a saying that "people get the government they vote for." The implication of the maxim is that if undesirable or unwise legislation is enacted, if executive branch officials are inept or ineffective, or if the government is beset with widespread corruption, then such unfortunate results are the consequence of the electorate's decision regarding whom to trust with the powers and prestige of public office. The Constitution does not forbid people from enacting wrongheaded policies. If voters elect leaders that fail them, then the citizenry is saddled with the consequences of its choice until the next election. Such is the reality in a democratic republic.
Quote of the Day
Think about the recent conversation about Centralized Banking Digital Currency (CBDC). Nothing could go wrong with that, right? So, if a financial institution knows that your CEI or personal Social Credit Score is below the accepted rate, what happens if they decide to freeze your financial accounts under the auspices of a CBDC?
The Robert B. Carleson Freedom Scholarship

The American Constitutional Rights Union is proud to announce the creation of The Robert B. Carleson Freedom Scholarship, honoring our founder’s lifelong dedication to liberty, limited government, and the principles of the U.S. Constitution.
Beginning in January 2026, this scholarship will be awarded annually to graduating high school seniors who demonstrate a strong commitment to constitutional values and civic responsibility.
Named for Robert B. Carleson, a visionary public servant who championed individual freedom and self-reliance, the scholarship will help deserving students pursue higher education while carrying forward his enduring legacy. Learn more about Robert Carleson’s impact here.

LIVE FREE LOCAL
The phrase, “All politics is local,” carries a lot more weight than one might think. In the Founders’ view of our Constitutional Republic, the ultimate power rests at the most local level possible — the individual citizen. Our Constitution is carefully designed to enumerate powers we voluntarily cede to the government in a descending fashion, starting with the individual and ending with the federal government. That’s right. The real power in our country rests with the individual and then the local and state representatives they elect.
This is why the American Constitutional Rights Union started the Live Free Local initiative. Our aim is to embrace local politics and arm you with the tools to make a difference in your community and state.
ACRU EDUCATION RESOURCES AND LEGAL INITIATIVES
As the Left shamelessly schemes to prevent election integrity measures in state legislatures and abolish them with a federal power grab (H.R. 1/S. 1), their propaganda includes references to Jim Crow laws of the past. ACRU educated the public on this issue some years ago in our publication “The Truth About Jim Crow.”
We encourage you to download this important publication and share with others. It is important to remember the history of Jim Crow and to know that it has nothing to do with present day voting integrity laws. We all should agree that it should be easy to vote and hard to cheat.
