Empowering Americans to Live Free.

Attorney General Edwin Meese

Attorney General Edwin Meese III, ACRU Director

“As Attorney General in the Reagan Administration, I committed myself to conserving and expanding freedom. It was my position that our Constitution, its text, and the original intention behind it, demanded nothing less. To argue otherwise would be to risk, as Abraham Lincoln said, “blowing out the moral lights around us.”

That’s why I’ve, again, taken up my sword in defense of our Constitution and am fighting a very real and present danger to our nation. I serve on the board of an efficient and important organization, the American Constitutional Rights Union. I believe strongly that partnered with ACRU we have a real chance to preserve the freedoms and liberties we hold dear.”

By |September 28th, 2023|

Allen West of Live Free TV welcomes ACRU and Chairman Lori Roman to discuss the importance of Live Free initiatives like protecting free and fair elections, protecting vulnerable voters and making sure our service member votes are counted. Lori and Allen discuss the new Live Free Local initiative and how it helps citizens make a real difference. Complaints to Washington fall on deaf ears, so the team describes how you can make a real difference in your communities.

The Enemy Has a Vote

By |May 27th, 2026|

Trump's "anti-weaponization" fund sounds good until you remember the Marxist left will inherit it. Allen West argues constitutional conservatives must wargame every new policy, because the enemy always has a vote.

The Art of War, Not the Deal

By |May 26th, 2026|

You don’t make deals with maniacal theocratic tyrants. You overwhelm them. Allen West lays out the strategic, operational, and tactical case for defeating Iran, not negotiating with it.

Honor Memorial Day

By |May 20th, 2026|

Memorial Day was never meant to be "happy." Allen West reminds Americans that bargains and BBQs miss the point entirely, the real meaning lives in the empty chairs at family tables and the white headstones in our Gardens of Stone.

Supreme Court to decide on racial gerrymandering in Louisiana v. Callais

By |November 4th, 2025|

At issue is Louisiana’s congressional map, which was redrawn after litigation to include a second majority-Black district, under the Voting Rights Act. Advocates of the redistricting effort said the map protects minority voting rights. In reality, it transforms the Voting Rights Act into a tool for partisan gerrymandering, forcing states to engineer partisan districts under the guise of racial equity.

ACRU Files Amicus Brief to Uphold Immigration Law

By |October 15th, 2025|

ACRU strongly believes that the rule of law is foundational to a well-functioning and safe society. ACRU asserts that without the ability to rid society of criminal aliens who have violated the law, this rule of law is unable to be upheld. ACRU further believes that state and local law enforcement is empowered to work with the federal government to uphold this rule of law, and that the ability to continue to detain criminals who are wanted by the federal government is of paramount importance.

Quote of the Day

Constitutional conservatives must learn to delineate the goals and objectives of the progressive socialist left. We must be able to clearly show who the real “threat to democracy” is, and those who seek to undermine our Constitutional Republic. Too often we find ourselves reticent, and recalcitrant, to firmly clarify what it is these leftists embrace, and put them on defense. It is time we stop reacting and go on offense. It is time we reclaim language, terms, or references, and force them to defend who they are and what they believe.

Beginning in January 2026, this scholarship will be awarded annually to graduating high school seniors who demonstrate a strong commitment to constitutional values and civic responsibility.

Named for Robert B. Carleson, a visionary public servant who championed individual freedom and self-reliance, the scholarship will help deserving students pursue higher education while carrying forward his enduring legacy. Learn more about Robert Carleson’s impact here.

LIVE FREE LOCAL

Live Free Local

Are you frustrated with the slow pace of movement in Washington? You write, you call, and you email, but things never seem to change. Part of the reason for that is that Washington politics are far removed from you — the real base of power.

The phrase, “All politics is local,” carries a lot more weight than one might think. In the Founders’ view of our Constitutional Republic, the ultimate power rests at the most local level possible — the individual citizen. Our Constitution is carefully designed to enumerate powers we voluntarily cede to the government in a descending fashion, starting with the individual and ending with the federal government. That’s right. The real power in our country rests with the individual and then the local and state representatives they elect.

This is why the American Constitutional Rights Union started the Live Free Local initiative. Our aim is to embrace local politics and arm you with the tools to make a difference in your community and state.

The Truth About Jim Crow

As the Left shamelessly schemes to prevent election integrity measures in state legislatures and abolish them with a federal power grab (H.R. 1/S. 1), their propaganda includes references to Jim Crow laws of the past. ACRU educated the public on this issue some years ago in our publication “The Truth About Jim Crow.”

We encourage you to download this important publication and share with others. It is important to remember the history of Jim Crow and to know that it has nothing to do with present day voting integrity laws. We all should agree that it should be easy to vote and hard to cheat.
