In 2002, I became the first (and possibly last) Director of School Choice at the U.S. Department of Education. President George W. Bush had assembled a great team of reformers who sought to empower parents and children through expansion of school choice and a reduction in bureaucratic nonsense. What did I learn in those three and a half years? The agency should be bulldozed. It is a gigantic cesspool of apparatchiks who are sucking up money that should go to the students.

Rome did not protect its northern border and eventually the Visigoths, a Germanic tribe, led by Alaric sacked Rome in 410 AD. In just two and a half years we have seen between 6-7 million illegally enter America across the southern border. Reports are that another 700K-1 million lie in wait to rush our border. No one is enacting the policies to stop this invasion: not Joe Biden, nor Texas Governor Greg Abbott. With all that we are facing in America at this point, being overrun at our southern border which is operationally controlled by a transnational narco-criminal terrorist organization does not bode well.
The Robert B. Carleson Freedom Scholarship
The American Constitutional Rights Union is proud to announce the creation of The Robert B. Carleson Freedom Scholarship, honoring our founder’s lifelong dedication to liberty, limited government, and the principles of the U.S. Constitution.
Beginning in January 2026, this scholarship will be awarded annually to graduating high school seniors who demonstrate a strong commitment to constitutional values and civic responsibility.
Named for Robert B. Carleson, a visionary public servant who championed individual freedom and self-reliance, the scholarship will help deserving students pursue higher education while carrying forward his enduring legacy. Learn more about Robert Carleson’s impact here.
The Defenders Initiative recognizes law enforcement agencies honoring their constitutional oath to protect and to serve by working cooperatively with ICE to identify, process, and detain dangerous immigration offenders per Section 287(g).

As the Left shamelessly schemes to prevent election integrity measures in state legislatures and abolish them with a federal power grab (H.R. 1/S. 1), their propaganda includes references to Jim Crow laws of the past. ACRU educated the public on this issue some years ago in our publication “The Truth About Jim Crow.”
We encourage you to download this important publication and share with others. It is important to remember the history of Jim Crow and to know that it has nothing to do with present day voting integrity laws. We all should agree that it should be easy to vote and hard to cheat.
