Children Killed and Stolen From, Thanks to the ACLU

By |2023-03-10T08:04:55-05:00February 25th, 2008|

Four school children were killed in Minnesota,

when a women driving a van apparently ran a stop sign, struck and

overturned a school bus. The woman had no drivers license, gave an

apparent false name, and admitted that she was from Mexico. It looks

like she is an illegal alien, in the United States as a direct result of

the “open borders” policy of the ACLU and its political allies. A

second story about stolen identity, from a child, appears at the end.

ACRU Files Amicus Brief on DC v. Heller

By |2008-02-11T14:26:04-05:00February 11th, 2008|

Today, the ACRU filed an amicus brief on DC v. Heller, known as the DC Gun Ban Case.

Peter Ferrara, General Counsel for the ACRU, said this,

The Courts cannot treat the Second Amendment as a politically incorrect, disfavored stepchild of the Bill of Rights. Fidelity to the Constitution requires that courts give it the same zealous protection as every other right stated in our founding document. The Amendment is not being read broadly to protect the rights and liberties of the people if it is somehow interpreted to allow the government to adopt a complete ban on handguns and the use of other firearms […]

Horace Cooper: President Has Power To Let FISA Continue

By |2008-02-01T16:27:20-05:00February 1st, 2008|

Rather than pass a permanent renewal of America's foreign intelligence surveillance capability, Congress continues to debate the need for the Protect America Act. After waiting six months, they've now passed a 15-day extension of the act giving them more time to bicker over the issue. If they fail to act, it is essential that President Bush use his inherent executive power to continue the electronic surveillance program.

ACRU Senior Fellow Horace Cooper: No time to go wobbly

By |2008-01-25T12:12:59-05:00January 25th, 2008|

Senior Fellow Horace Cooper has an op-ed in today’s Washington Times, where he argues for renewing FISA.

Says Cooper,

It’s been six years since the odious attacks of September 11 and even though there is an understandable amount of complacency settling in, as Margaret Thatcher warned the first President Bush, it’s “no time to go wobbly.” It is essential that our policy-makers at home drown out the scare tactics of leftist groups like the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). We absolutely must do so in order to make sure that we stay ever vigilant and protect our citizens domestically.

ACRU Senior Fellow Ken Blackwell: "Reauthorize FISA"

By |2008-01-24T19:09:18-05:00January 24th, 2008|

In today’s New York Sun, Senior Fellow Ken Blackwell wrote a column arguing Congress should reauthorize FISA.

Says Blackwell,

We are at war. Destroying two skyscrapers and part of our military headquarters are not just criminal acts. Killing 2,973 people in a planned attack is not just a criminal act. These are acts of war. While law enforcement is to maintain harmony within our culture, war is to protect our culture from being eradicated.
