When Americans think of food stamp recipients, images of desperate lower-income Americans typically come to mind. Taxpayers desperately want to believe that their hard-earned dollars are helping poor people struggling to make ends meet with welfare benefits helping them get the vital nutrients they need to stay alive. Imagine the outrage, then, as taxpayers find out that some of the people on food stamps are in fact millionaires.

DMV's Latest 'Unanticipated' Cost Overrun for the Much Anticipated Voter Registration Act Compliance

The historically deficient California Department of Motor Vehicles has encountered yet another stumbling block on its way to compliance with the 1993 National Voter Registration Act. On behalf of the DMV, the state Finance Director sent a letter last week to the Joint Legislative Budget Committee requesting and authorizing another $2.2 million to “help meet the deadlines.”

American Civil Rights Union (ACRU) supports the Second Amendment rights of New York City residents as the Supreme Court decides whether the New York City law criminalizing transport of registered guns outside the home is unconstitutional.
The American Civil Rights Union (ACRU) has filed an amicus brief supporting the petitioners in the case New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. City of New York in the Supreme Court of the United States. The Constitution clearly outlines the right to “keep and bear” arms. The right to bear arms is at stake in the case.
