“A Republic, If YOU Can Keep It”

“The cornerstone of democracy rests on the foundation of an educated electorate.” ― Thomas Jefferson
For those not paying attention, there has been a lot of talk about some people in America being a threat to democracy. Much of this rhetoric comes from the progressive socialist left who fail to realize that America is a Constitutional Republic that has a representative democracy as the means by which the citizens of the Republic are represented. Our Constitution is our rule of law and is the framework for our three branches of government and their enumerated powers, duties, responsibilities, jurisdictions and purview.
Unfortunately, there are those who did not get a class in basic civics, preferring a class on Kim Kardashian Underwater Basket-Weaving. A simple perusal of Article IV, Section 4 of the US Constitution would explain that our federal government is to guarantee a Republican form of governance to every state in the Union. Now, especially for the uneducated leftists, that does not mean the Republican Party. A Republic has two foundations, adherence to the rule of law and respect of individual rights, freedoms, and liberty.
Our Constitution is a restraining document on the powers of the federal government, not a free-for-all. However, progressive socialists and Marxists do not want a constitutional Republic, they desire a pure democracy. It was Benjamin Franklin who once asserted, “democracy is two wolves and a lamb deciding what is for lunch.” Right now, the wolves in America are no longer wearing sheep’s clothing, they are no longer masquerading or hiding their sinister intentions for our Republic.
A pure democracy is truly a mob rule, or mobocracy. There are no rules, standards, or law. When we turn on the television and we see a mob overrunning a local business and ransacking the establishment . . . that is a mobocracy. When you have an organized group that burns down buildings, attacks dissenters, and assails law enforcement . . . that is a mobocracy. When you have a political group that pushes for laws that allow violent criminals to be released onto the streets and threaten law abiding citizens, with little to no consequence . . . that is a mobocracy. This is what a pure democracy creates, and the result is that a dominant group uses fear, intimidation, coercion, threats, and violence to advance their ideological agenda. This is the mantra of progressives, socialists, Marxists, and communists.
It then becomes necessary for leftists, in order to set the conditions for their success, to dehumanize their opposition. They seek to castigate those who will not comply, be obedient, with disparaging, denigrating, and demeaning monikers in order to justify the means that will be used. Take for instance a big burly adult man in North Dakota who runs down an 18-year-old kid and leaves him to die . . . because he was a member of a Republican extremist group. Of course this declaration has not been proven, but it does not have to be. When Joe Biden takes the dark and ominous stage decreeing MAGA Republicans are a threat to democracy, extremists, and dangerous, it is the dog whistle that releases the hounds.
Giorgia Meloni becomes Italy’s first female Prime Minister, breaking the glass ceiling? Nope, she is a conservative and therefore she must be disparaged as a right wing fascist and compared to Benito Mussolini, you know, a fella who suspended individual rights and nationalized economic production. All of a sudden Hillary Clinton comes out and compares Trump rally attendees as Nazis . . . Hmm, does she not know that Nazi meant National Socialist? All of a sudden leftists in America do not want us to be more like Europa — especially nations like Hungary, England, and Sweden.
As a kid growing up, I remember that when another kid was shouting and pointing a finger at you hurling harsh monikers, they were actually speaking of themselves. Funny, East Germany was officially known as the Deutschland Democratic Republic. North Korea is officially the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea. Bernie Sanders likes to refer to himself as a Democratic Socialist.
I refer to myself as a constitutional conservative as my philosophy of governance. I am hardly a threat to democracy. But, I am a threat to progressive socialism and Marxism, along with mob rule. I am not an extremist, but rather someone who took an oath to our rule of law, the constitution. And that is why I am so doggone proud to be the tip of the spear with the American Constitutional Rights Union’s Committee to Support and Defend, America’s conservative veterans organization. No extremists here, just real veterans, and Americans, who will honor our constitution, and conservative, classical liberal, principles and values. This is a Republic, and it is imperative that an educated populace defends it, and our system of representative democracy . . . not pure democracy, there is a difference.
Join us at the Committee to Support and Defend. Let us link our shields in order to protect and defend the longest-running constitutional Republic the world has ever known. Join us and stand strong against the real extremists, the real threats to our constitutional rights, freedoms, and liberty.
Steadfast and Loyal.
