Greetings, everyone! It has been a very interesting week, to say the least. One thing that cannot be debated: it was a week that truly justifies why we need the American Constitutional Rights Union (ACRU).

I remember being a young Army officer and going through Checkpoint Charlie into East Berlin; yes, behind the iron curtain, the wall. We were briefed before going over. We had to be in full service dress uniform, stay together, and maintain situational awareness. We would be followed and under the surveillance of the East German secret police, known as the Stasi.

The year was 1985, and I will never forget the despair, despondency, and utter dejection on the faces of the citizens of East Berlin, a complete opposite from West Berlin. We had gone from individual freedom and liberty to individual subjugation and suppression of freedom. The people were very afraid to interact with us beyond our purchases of goods and services. We were walking the streets with Soviet and East German troops and officers, their eyes very telling. We did notice the agents trailing us through stores and as we walked from store to store. The buildings were in ill repair, along with the streets. The vehicles were ugly, one make and model and it came in two or four doors, and just 3-4 different colors, if my memory serves me.

I did notice something: the TV antennas on top of the apartment buildings were all pointed west. Regardless of the despair in which they lived, the East Berliners knew there was something better.

As we drove back through Checkpoint Charlie, my resolve to never see this happen in my country grew stronger . . . Yet, here we are on this path.

When political opposition is targeted by federal law enforcement, we are on the path. When we are forcing Americans to make dire decisions about what they can afford, we are on the path. When the media can abjectly lie on issues and not be held accountable — Nora O’Donnell of CBS immediately comes to mind — we are on the path. When there is a two-tiered system of justice, we are on the path. When Americans are being detained, imprisoned, shackled, held in solitary confinement for misdemeanor offenses, we are on the path. When a 22 year combat veteran and former member of Congress can be banned from a social media platform, we are on the path.

Now, I could go on ad infinitum and ad nauseum but these are just some of the issues of the past week. It is no longer being hidden, the progressive socialist, Marxist, statist, and communist left in America is dragging the longest running Constitutional Republic in the world down the path of destruction. Sadly, they do not see it in those terms. For the leftists in America, this is just a transition; think about how often you hear them state that. Our economy is in transition. Our energy sector is in transition. The inflation which we are experiencing is transitory. They have inappropriately labeled a new spending law the Inflation Reduction Act when it is no more than a tax and spend climate legislation, which was signed into law. It will do nothing for inflation in America.

Who would have ever thought we would see Americans moving to Mexico to afford housing, shopping for gasoline, and buying groceries south of the border. That is happening because we are on the path of being forced to embrace a socialist economic model Winston Churchill described as, “Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy.”

At the ACRU, we reject the philosophy of failure, we will never surrender our constitutional rights. We at the ACRU believe, contrary to Joe Biden, that our constitutional amendments are absolute, especially the first ten, known as our individual Bill of Rights. The ACRU recognizes that we must reverse course and disavow the Marxist construct that has found a base in our Republic. We believe that our borders must be secured because you cannot attain individual sovereignty if you do not have national sovereignty.

The wall eventually came down, and the Soviet Union — along with the Eastern bloc — collapsed. The reason being is that the human spirit aspires to freedom, not subjugation. We must now destroy the wall that progressive socialists are trying to erect in America before they are successful. This is a fight for future generations to remember, to honor.

It is time for us all to be Steadfast and Loyal.
