Boeing on Friday suspended its COVID-19 vaccine requirement for U.S. employees, becoming the latest company to drop the rule amid pushback from some employees and in response to a court decisions blocking federal mandates.
In light of these events, and with a heavy heart, I submitted my resignation to Mayo Clinic Hospital. I cannot in good conscience continue to comply or work for a company that openly discriminates against its employees.
On Friday night the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in a 2-1 ruling reinstated the Biden administration's vaccine mandate for private businesses of 100 or more employees, which overturns a stay from the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. The mandate was set to go into effect on January 4, less than a month away, but had been tied up in the courts since President Joe Biden made the announcement on November 4.
This decision was handed down by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Dec. 10. It ruled that Acting Health Secretary Allison Beam did not have authority to issue a mask mandate for everyone indoors at schools and child care centers. Pennsylvania Senate President Pro Tempore Jake Corman, a Republican who is running for governor, filed the lawsuit personally, along with other parents.

Apparently, in California, it’s OK for schools to give children vaccines without parental permission as long as they bribe the child with free pizza not to tell anyone. Maribel Duarte, said her 13-year-old son brought home a vaccine card proving he was vaccinated. According to NBC News, “The lady that gave him the shot and signed the paper told my son, ‘Please don’t say anything. I don’t want to get in trouble.’”
