I remember this song from the 80s band “The Fixx.” It was one of my favorites. I find the opening words in the lyrics to be rather appropriate for our brief discussion today.

“The deception with tact, just what are you trying to say?

You’ve got a blank face, which irritates,

Communicate, pull out your party piece…”

For this constitutional brief, I would like to discuss the pending legislation and vote on the SAVE Act. Now, SAVE stands for Safeguard American Voter Eligibility, and the basic purpose of this legislation is to require individuals to provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections. Now, this sounds just simple, easily comprehensible, and agreeable, right? No, according to leftists like Senator Chuck Schumer of New York. To him, it represents a new Jim Crow. Funny, the new Marxist party formerly known as the Democratic gave us the one and only Jim Crow, amongst other segregationist policies. Leftists are ranting about nationalizing elections. Well, everyone has to show a picture ID at the airport to board a plane; does that mean we have “nationalized” airline travel?

See, one thing leads to another in the case of why the left is up in arms about the SAVE Act.

Not too long ago, we had an open borders policy as part of the Biden administration. Leftists said nothing about the tens of millions, single military-aged males included, that were pouring into our Country. Leftists said nothing about the intentional and purposeful undermining of the sovereignty of this Constitutional Republic. They were silent on the unconstitutional and unlawful actions undertaken by the Biden administration, which, in its first 90 days, reversed over 90 executive orders from the first Trump administration to secure our border. There was not a single leftist who cried out for the impeachment of the Secretary of Homeland Security, as he consistently offered the deception with tact (OK, lied), that the US southern border was secured.

Why? Simple; one thing leads to another.

All of a sudden, we had leftist lawsuits filed by the likes of Mark Elias affirming that those who entered our country illegally should be counted in our US Census. After all, the census is the basis for electoral representation from the federal level to state and local. Individuals on the left, like Elias, also pushed for illegals to have voting rights; they said local, but we all know what they intend. Even here in my State of Texas, leftists pushed for something called the Reasonable Impediment Declaration, where someone could declare at a polling location that they had a reasonable impediment to acquiring a picture ID, a declaration that could not be challenged. Now, some of you are saying, so what, Colonel? Here’s the so what. In the 2024 presidential election, 12 of the States won by Kamala Harris had no voter ID requirement.

One thing leads to another.

Why is it that leftists are willing to shut down the government over Immigration and Customs Enforcement? Why have they taken up the unconstitutional and unlawful position of declaring themselves to have sanctuary States and Municipalities, harboring individuals who have entered this country illegally? Why are they vehemently in opposition to the SAVE Act? Well, most, except the surprisingly reasonable Senator John Fetterman. Leftists do not care about minorities, unless it is a path to gain and maintain political power. This whole poor mouthing about “Jim Crow” is just really bad Kabuki theater, but Marxist leftists are really good at that. The Pew Poll just released earlier this week shows that 70+% of Blacks and Hispanics agree with a picture ID requirement to vote.

The progressive, socialist, Marxist left had an intentional plan to fundamentally transform the United States of America. It began with such an insidious concept as “mail-in ballots,” which was a “never allow a good crisis to go to waste” moment for the left. Once we comprehended the absurdity and, truly, illegality of that and other tomfoolery such as ballot drop boxes, leftists had to go another route. That was to flood this country with illegals, congregate them in Blue jurisdictions, and then declare that they could not be deported. Harboring individuals who have committed a crime is not some righteous endeavor; it is not providing sanctuary. It is aiding and abetting criminal activity and being complicit as an accomplice to a crime.

Each action of the leftists leads to another, with the end goal being political domination…and remember for them, the ends justify their means. Therefore, we need to be savvy and aware of the chicanery of these imbecilic charlatans who embrace lawlessness as a means to achieve their objective. They do not care about Renee Good or Alex Pretti, other than that they can leverage them for more lawlessness. They do not care about legal, law-abiding Blacks and Hispanics. The one thing leftists care about is unchallenged power, as one thing will always lead to another in their Saul Alinsky Rules for Radicals playbook.

Ask yourself, are these Marxist leftists the people you want to have an electoral victory in the year of our 250th anniversary of Independence?
