I have to give it to the progressive socialist, Marxists, of the Democrat party. They are hell bent on disarming the American people and forcing us into abject subjugation and servitude. Leftists know that they cannot institute their ideological agenda as long as a populace has the will and ability to fight back. That is exactly what the lesson of April 19, 1775 evidenced. Thirteen colonies stood up and took on the greatest military power the world knew at the time. On that day 250 years ago, there was no United States of America, no Army, no Navy, no Marine Corps. What did exist was a burning desire for individual liberty, rights, and freedom. So, men, the militia, came out and stood on a battlefield and fired back. They knew that if armed, they were free, citizens who could determine their own destiny. If disarmed, they would be relegated to being subjects and live according to another’s bye or leave.
The British knew the same, hence why they were marching inland from Boston to Concord, Massachusetts, to destroy a weapons and armaments factory. That factory was supplying the Sons of Liberty.
And so it is today that the American gun manufacturing industry is again under assault. This time it is not the Redcoats, but Marxists in America. We can go back to Barack Hussein Obama aka Barry Soetoro, and his henchman, Eric Holder, and their scheme called Operation Fast and Furious. They sought to demonize gun manufacturers in America as supplying the transnational narco-criminal terrorists of the Mexican cartels. A US Border Patrol agent, Brian Terry, lost his life because of this deranged plan. Yet, Obama and Holder were never held accountable…a persistent theme with leftists.
Now we have a new and even more diabolical scheme that just played out before our US Supreme Court yesterday.
The country of Mexico is aligning with the Marxists to sue the American gun manufacturing industry for causing violence in the country of Mexico by the cartels. Yes, this lawsuit, which was green-lighted by the 1st US Circuit Court of Appeals, based in Boston (how interesting) was heard in the Supreme Court. Mexico is suing gun manufacturers Smith & Wesson, Colt, Glock, and Beretta for $10B claiming that they are selling weapons to these terrorists, knowingly, and making it harder for them to combat crime. I find the entire argument incredulous and unconscionable.
First of all, gun manufacturers are not in the business of selling arms, knowingly, directly to a terrorist organization. And in gun stores, since Mexico claims they control gun sales, one must complete an ATF Form 4473 which asks some very specific questions. Recently we saw members of the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua brandishing weapons in an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado. I do not think that any gun manufacturer or gun store owner would willingly and knowingly sell arms to these individuals. What we do have in America is an issue with straw buyers, American citizens, who pass, or even perhaps lie, as Hunter Biden did, on their 4473 form and provide weapons to gang and cartel members. They also enable the cross-border shipping of these weapons.
Let me pose this question. If cartel members are being transported around by SUVs by Ford, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Lincoln, or others, do we file a lawsuit against them for enabling cartel transportation? If cartel members are getting sustenance from drinking Coca Cola, should we file a lawsuit against the beverage company?
I recall not too long ago a Christmas parade in Wisconsin where a Black Lives Matter, a Marxist subversive group itself, drove an SUV at high speed through the crowd, and the same happened this New Year’s Day in New Orleans. Should the maker of those vehicles have a lawsuit brought against them? Or how about when a drunk driver kills a person, should the car maker and the liquor company have a lawsuit filed against them?
Let’s all be honest, what happened before the SCOTUS yesterday was Mexico and Marxists teaming up against the Second Amendment. Just as with the absurdity of having a gun manufacturer pay out $73M to the families of the Sandy Hook victims, this is all about defeating and economically attacking gun manufacturers which in turn undermines the Second Amendment and results in the disarmament of the American people. We all felt sorrow for what happened in Sandy Hook, Connecticut, as with all these mass shootings, but it is the evil intention of individuals, not a manufacturer, where guilt lies. Shall we file lawsuits against knife manufacturers in the aftermath of stabbings?
What is highly disturbing is that these Marxists are so determined to destroy our Constitutional right enshrined in the Second Amendment that they will join forces with a foreign country. The same foreign country that is allowing a deadly chemical, fentanyl, to be smuggled into our Country. Over 250K Americans are dead because of it.
The American Constitutional Rights Union has submitted an Amicus Brief in support of the American gun manufacturers named in this lawsuit. We condemn the First US Circuit Court of Appeals for allowing this to move forward. It is our sincere hope that the SCOTUS will reject this insidious wanton attack on American industry, and our constitutional right.
Steadfast and Loyal.
