Von Spakovsky: Media Attacks Florida’s Governor for Proposing to Go After Election Crimes

February 2nd, 2022|

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has a good idea with his budget proposal to create an “election crimes agency” that would “investigate election crimes and irregularities and make referrals for further legal action directly to a statewide prosecutor.” Florida should implement it, and other states should follow. In fact, state legislators should make sure that a statewide prosecutor’s office has jurisdiction to prosecute all such election cases, especially when local prosecutors fail to act.

ACRUs Ken Blackwell: Black History as Shared American History

February 2nd, 2022|

Today, Americans of all stripes are constantly bombarded with an insidious propaganda campaign against our shared history. From Critical Race Theory to ripping down historical statues, our national story is being rewritten as irredeemably sinful. These efforts have taken a particularly racialized characteristic by implying that Black history is somehow distinct from, or in opposition to, “American history” itself, rather than an integral part of it.

ACRUs Blackwell: DeSantis is right: A state election crimes agency will make elections more secure

February 2nd, 2022|

The Left and their liberal media allies love to point to the low number of election crimes prosecuted as proof that there is little to no voter fraud. They claim these low figures prove we have secure elections and that we do not need election integrity reforms. There is one major problem with this argument. Far too often, county election supervisors refer election crimes to county prosecutors, and these referrals gather dust. Prosecuting election crimes requires resources, time, and expertise of election law that most local county prosecutors do not have. Prosecutors also face political pressure to not prosecute election crime cases.

Biden: It’s Not Who Can Vote, But Who Gets to Count the Vote

January 20th, 2022|

It is a shocking statement that could easily be attributed to a third world dictator. When asked about election legislation this week, the president of the United States of America stated, “It’s not who can vote, but who gets to count the vote. Who counts the vote—that’s what this is about.” The definition of a political gaffe is when a politician accidentally tells you what they really think. And what President Biden really thinks is that the Feds should take over elections, stripping states of their election responsibilities as designated by the U.S. Constitution. The Dems want to control who counts the votes.

A Day in the Life… of Big Government Mandates

January 13th, 2022|

Far-fetched? If you’ve shaken the dust from a single history book, you know precisely how easily even a modern society will slide down a slippery slope, especially if it’s greased with politician-sprinkled unicorn dust. The most frightening thing about this rash of mandates and “show me your papers” requirements is how it’s setting up a never-ending barrage of similar behavior. Under the logic of “for the public’s health,” we’re turning one small step into a giant leap, straight into a pile of…

AFPI Statement: Dr. Alveda King & Ambassador Ken Blackwell on Biden-Harris Speech Regarding the Freedom to Cheat Act

January 13th, 2022|

President Biden’s and Vice President Harris’s speech in Atlanta today was an insult to all Americans, especially those in the African American community. We were deeply involved in the wars that started and ended the Civil Rights movement in this country. The President and Vice President’s misguided insistence on the ignorant, false claim that America is somehow stuck in the 1960s is disgusting, dangerous, and an affront to all the sacrifices and great successes this country’s brave Civil Rights pioneers made.

ACRU’s Roman Discusses Efforts to Protect Vulnerable Voters with Cleta Mitchell on Who’s Counting Podcast

December 28th, 2021|

In the run-up to the 2020 elections, American Constitutional Rights Union created an important outreach program to senior citizens and senior residential facilities that brought attention to fraud, voter manipulation, and undue influence in voting by political operatives and facilities staff. Truly a form of elderly abuse, many cases of stolen and manipulated senior ballots have been reported to ACRU as it continues its important project and expands to other groups of vulnerable voters. Cleta and Lori discuss what actions seniors themselves, their families, facility directors, election officials, state legislators, and most importantly — concerned citizens — can take to ensure the authenticity and integrity of every senior vote.

ACRU’s Blackwell: Republicans Will Own Inflation from Infrastructure Trap

December 6th, 2021|

Seventeen Senate Republicans seem determined to save President Joe Biden from his disastrous policies by backing Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) infrastructure bill, reducing the GOP’s ability to go after the inflation caused by Democrats’ runaway spending when it hits everyday Americans’ weekly budgets, as it is sure to do.

Blackwell & Roman: One Joe Biden Vax Mandate Down, 3 to Go

November 30th, 2021|

A federal judge has struck down one of President Joe Biden’s four COVID vaccine mandates, ruling that it violates federal law to force healthcare providers to fire doctors and nurses who object to the vaccination. One mandate down, three to go.

There’s a Social War a Comin’

October 27th, 2021|

If you put your iPhone to the ground, you’ll hear distant war drums beating. On a quiet day, you might also catch hints of Silicon Valley boardroom debates. They know trouble is on the horizon, and I’ll bet some of that crypto money tech company bigwigs are wondering how the heck they’re going to respond.

The Psychology of Crisis Tyrants

October 26th, 2021|

The American Constitutional Rights Union defines a crisis tyrant as a leader who uses a crisis — like the COVID-19 pandemic — to justify and grease the skids of their tyrannical behavior. The “crisis” element adds a layer or two of “despicable” as the exercise of power comes on the backs of those enduring a crisis or tragedy.

ACRU’s Blackwell: A Small School Board Victory for Critical Race Theory Opponents

October 26th, 2021|

Small victories are still victories and are worth celebrating. There are many Americans, of all races and ethnicities, who have come to realize just how much critical race theory has come to permeate our discourse and our dialogues and we are fighting back. We are reclaiming that most self-evident of truths — all men are created equal.

America-loving Regular Folks Are the New Radicals

October 13th, 2021|

In the late 1960s, my oldest brother brought our entire family to the attention of the FBI. He ran an underground newspaper in Flint, Michigan, that questioned authority and advocated for legalizing Marijuana and ending the Vietnam War. Unlike some radicals of the time, my brother was a veteran who loved America and shunned communism. But exercising free speech and questioning authority can bring trouble. As a little girl I was aware that my big brother was under scrutiny for criticism of government officials. My parents may not have agreed with all of his views, but they didn’t shield me from them.
