Taxation: Weapon of Mass Destruction, Perversion of the Law and Tool of Forced Equality
Greetings everyone, well, it has come and gone, another tax day is under our belts. I found it very interesting that during the Obama administration ol' Barry Soetoro started referring to government spending as "investments." Ya gotta give it to the leftists, they are master manipulators of language. But the use of the word "investment" begs the question of, what is our return on investment (ROI) as American taxpayers?
Crisis Tyrant “Mandates” Are Not Law
Greetings everyone and a Blessed Holy Week to you. I pray we never forget that it was just two short years ago that the Covid Crisis Tyrants sought to shut down Holy Week in America. And in many ways, these delusional usurpers of our Constitutional rights, freedoms, and liberties are not relenting.
Race and American Exceptionalism
This past Thursday evening at the University of Buffalo (UB) I was invited by the Young America's Foundation Chapter at UB to deliver a presentation on “Race and American Exceptionalism.” Before I even arrived, the nature of my visit was made controversial when students on the campus ripped down flyers and even conducted a campus walking protest. Therefore, I knew this would be quite the hostile environment. The question I have is, why?
Allen West: The Left — Conform or Else
Recall the theme of Joe Biden's presidential address, "Unity”. Well, that was a bunch of bovine excrement, as we would say here in Texas. The real theme of Biden's speech, and the mantra of the progressive socialist left is "conformity". And if you actually paid attention to Biden's address you would have surmised the consequences and ramifications of non-conformity. Simply stated, you will be disparaged, denigrated, demeaned, arrested, targeted, and unconstitutionally detained.
The Feds Continue to Ignore the Constitution
Last week the Biden Administration announced it would be ending the Title 42 Covid restrictions on illegal immigrants. I find this to be very ironic as the Governor of Texas just renewed the Covid emergency declaration on 23 March. It would appear illegals have more rights than law-abiding Texas citizens. However, what is quite unconstitutional is the Biden administration's abdication of their constitutional duty under the "Guarantee Clause", Article IV, Section 4. The federal government is charged to protect every state in the union from invasion. And there can be no debate when millions are entering our nation illegally. This is not an immigration issue, it is indeed an invasion.
Live Free Means Economic Freedom
Perhaps some of you may recall that this whole idea of taxing income began in the early 1900s, circa 1917. Prior to taxing Americans based upon their income, taxation was based upon consumption, what people purchased. The personal income tax was supposed to be temporary, and not to exceed 2%. Yes, the joke is firmly upon the American people.
Ken Blackwell: Stranger Danger — Protect Vulnerable Voters from Fraud
“Stranger Danger.” This phrase is used by parents to warn their children about predators. In this election year, it is also an appropriate warning for vulnerable citizens who could be targeted by activists who will try to suppress or steal their votes.
ACRU’s Allen West: Education Freedom–the Civil Rights Issue of our Time
Perhaps you remember the song "Teach the Children" by Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. In the perspective of the progressive socialist left the word 'teach' is replaced with 'indoctrinate'. I find it interesting that the first person to introduce the idea of state control of education was one Karl Marx. With the rise of power of the leftist teachers’ unions we are witnessing the manifestation of one of Marx's fundamental planks as written in his book, The Communist Manifesto.
Von Spakovsky: Efforts to bar reelection bids are unconstitutional
The effort to have members of Congress barred from having their names on ballots based on claims that they participated in an “insurrection” on Jan. 6 or objected to electoral votes should fail. Congress permanently eliminated the insurrection disqualification in the 14th Amendment in amnesty acts that are still in force today, and the objections to the electoral votes were filed in accordance with federal law. All of these efforts and threats are a desperate attempt to gain political advantage through unconstitutional actions. They are a waste of time and resources and should be dismissed as such.
The Left Strikes Again at Freedom of Speech in Akron, Ohio — Election Integrity is “Off Limits”
The League of Women Voters took issue with the Roundtable inviting me to speak. Its local chapter president, Rosanne Winter, sent the Roundtable a letter expressing the group’s “strong disappointment,” and protesting my choice as a speaker. The Roundtable should select “respected speakers,” said the League, by which it clearly means only those who don’t disagree with the League.
ACRU’s Allen West: Just Say No!
So, how did we find ourselves in such a grave situation in America that we have avowed socialists as representatives at various levels of government? The answer is simple, we never said “no.”We are living in a time in America where a certain group of individuals are turning their ideology into policy. And most of this is occurring through the use of edicts, orders, mandates, and decrees. None of which are constitutional, because in a Republic we are to be governed by the rule of law. Instead, we are being ruled as subjects.Since we have failed to say "no", we are on the precipice of losing constitutional governance in America...some would say we already have. I am not one of those.
Ken Blackwell Discusses the Importance of Election Integrity on the Dan O’Donnell Show
ACRU’s Ken Blackwell appears on the Dan O’Donnell show to discuss the state of election reform in Wisconsin and its critical role in the preservation of democratic principles. “The foundation of the American system of self-governance is liberty and the core expression of a peoples' liberty is the ability to vote in free and fair elections. Safeguarding the integrity of our elections is paramount to preserving our republic."
ACRU’s Allen West on America’s First Liberty and the Importance of Freedom of Religion
As I speak across the country, I am often asked, “How do we get our country back on track?” My response is simple, “As the longest running constitutional republic in the history of the world, we need to get back to our fundamental principles and values.” America was established, not upon the absurd cultural Marxist tomfoolery of 1619, but upon a belief that the unalienable rights of the individual are endowed to them from a Creator God.
ACRU’s LTC Allen West: A Black Guy’s Defense of the Constitution
The situation in America is no longer about political parties. It is now about two very different philosophies of governance, constitutional conservatism and progressive socialism...Marxism. The crux of the matter comes down to the relationship between the individual citizen and the institution of government. Our founding documents, which Mystal believes are flawed because white men wrote them, establish the individual, their rights, freedoms, liberties, as sovereign over the institution of government. Mystal and his comrades do not believe that to be so.
Meese and Blackwell: Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Thomas Embody Integrity in Public Service
The militant Left is attacking the principled public service of Justice Clarence Thomas again, this time by targeting his wife Ginni in a malicious attempt to delegitimize Supreme Court decisions that are faithful to the original meaning of the Constitution.
ACRU-Supported Lawsuit Strikes Down Mask Mandate in Loudoun County
In a decisive victory for parental rights, a Loudoun County, VA, judge ended a pattern of genuinely appalling behavior by the Loudoun Country School Board. Enforcing a mask mandate against state Executive Order, the board has been responsible for suspending and shaming students, placing them in solitary confinement, and imposing all manner of strict penalties on students and parents.
Hans von Spakovsky: Election Law Landscape in Constant Flux Ahead of Midterms
In 2020, we saw more lawsuits filed over election laws and rule changes than in any prior year of American history. And with the congressional midterms fast approaching, litigation and other developments just keep coming.
Von Spakovsky: Media Attacks Florida’s Governor for Proposing to Go After Election Crimes
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has a good idea with his budget proposal to create an “election crimes agency” that would “investigate election crimes and irregularities and make referrals for further legal action directly to a statewide prosecutor.” Florida should implement it, and other states should follow. In fact, state legislators should make sure that a statewide prosecutor’s office has jurisdiction to prosecute all such election cases, especially when local prosecutors fail to act.
ACRUs Ken Blackwell: Black History as Shared American History
Today, Americans of all stripes are constantly bombarded with an insidious propaganda campaign against our shared history. From Critical Race Theory to ripping down historical statues, our national story is being rewritten as irredeemably sinful. These efforts have taken a particularly racialized characteristic by implying that Black history is somehow distinct from, or in opposition to, “American history” itself, rather than an integral part of it.
ACRUs Blackwell: DeSantis is right: A state election crimes agency will make elections more secure
The Left and their liberal media allies love to point to the low number of election crimes prosecuted as proof that there is little to no voter fraud. They claim these low figures prove we have secure elections and that we do not need election integrity reforms. There is one major problem with this argument. Far too often, county election supervisors refer election crimes to county prosecutors, and these referrals gather dust. Prosecuting election crimes requires resources, time, and expertise of election law that most local county prosecutors do not have. Prosecutors also face political pressure to not prosecute election crime cases.
