The agency stated that its officers remain dedicated to removing criminal illegal aliens from the region in fulfillment of their congressionally mandated mission.

Over a two-day period, ICE arrested multiple illegal aliens with prior convictions for serious crimes across the country, including several with New York connections. Eduardo Torres-Gutierrez, a Mexican national, was convicted of assault in the Bronx, and Eduardo Pelaez-Martinez, also a Mexican national, was convicted of a criminal sexual act in Goshen, New York. Other arrests nationally included individuals convicted of indecency with a child, criminally negligent homicide by DUI, drug trafficking, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Over one weekend, ICE arrested multiple illegal aliens with serious criminal histories, led by Rigoberto Albizar-Martinez, a 58-year-old Cuban national convicted in December 2024 of threatening to bomb U.S. Representative Kathy Castor's district office in Tampa, Florida. Among the other weekend arrests was Omar Boulama, a Moroccan national convicted of robbery in Rochester, New York. Additional arrests included individuals convicted of child pornography possession, involuntary manslaughter, aggravated sexual assault of a child, and gang-related assault with a deadly weapon.

Juan Carlos Padilla Santos, a Dominican national, was sentenced to 100 months in federal prison after being discovered to have illegally reentered the United States following two prior deportations. Padilla Santos has a criminal history that includes murder and narcotics possession convictions, and investigators determined he had at one point attempted to fake his own death. The case was developed following an investigation by ICE New York.

Three MS-13 gang members were taken into custody on August 8, 2025, following a joint operation involving ICE New York City, Nassau County Police, and the FBI. Two of the three individuals had illegally entered the United States during the Biden administration, and all three have criminal histories including charges related to attempted murder, assault, and weapons possession. The operation was part of ongoing efforts to disrupt MS-13 activity in the New York City area.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested Wahota Allassane Ouattara, a 38-year-old national from Cote d'Ivoire, upon his release from New York state custody on July 23, 2025. Ouattara has nine criminal convictions in the United States encompassing offenses including assault, arson, and attempted robbery. He was transported to an ICE detention facility and is pending removal proceedings.

ICE Buffalo arrested a 33-year-old Salvadoran national on July 23, 2025, upon his release from New York State corrections custody. The individual had been convicted of seven counts of rape, two counts of using a child in a sexual performance, four counts of sexual abuse, and additional related offenses. An immigration judge had already ordered his removal from the United States in December 2024.

HSI Buffalo and the Buffalo Police Department arrested Aden Ibrahim, 29, on July 9, 2025, for alleged unlawful possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. A search of a residence yielded a revolver, ammunition, and crack cocaine. Ibrahim had prior felony convictions in 2022 and 2024 that legally prohibited him from possessing firearms or ammunition.

Between July 11 and July 17, 2025, ICE Buffalo removed six individuals with criminal convictions and pending charges from the United States. The removals included individuals convicted of manslaughter, rape, domestic violence, and theft-related offenses. The agency stated the removals reflect the administration's enforcement priority of targeting the most serious criminal offenders for deportation.
