U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 65 individuals during a four-day Connecticut operation called Operation Broken Trust, targeting transnational organized crime members and gang associates. Among those apprehended, 29 had prior convictions or charges for serious crimes including kidnapping, assault, drug offenses, weapons violations, and sex crimes.
The Department of Homeland Security announced that ICE placed a detainer on Lorenzo Lopez Alcario, a 30-year-old Guatemalan national accused of sexually assaulting a child. Alcario had been deported in 2017 for drug possession but re-entered the U.S. in June 2022 and was subsequently released by the Biden administration.
A 44-year-old Salvadoran national pleaded guilty to unlawful reentry after being arrested by ICE Boston in March 2024. Arsenio Valladares had been previously deported in 2008 and possessed convictions for violent crimes including assault with a deadly weapon and assault on a police officer. He faces up to 10 years in prison and mandatory deportation upon sentencing.
Two members of MS-13 were sentenced following an investigation by ICE Homeland Security Investigations New England. The defendants were responsible for a previously unsolved 2010 murder in Chelsea, Massachusetts, where a 28-year-old victim was fatally stabbed multiple times.
A Guatemalan national pleaded guilty to illegally reentering the United States after being deported twice previously. Manuel Ruiz-Luis, 52, was arrested in New Bedford in March 2025 and faces up to two years in prison at his September sentencing.

Cordova had been convicted in 2022 of possessing child sexual abuse material and was sentenced to probation with mandatory sex offender registration.
ICE Boston arrested a 53-year-old Dominican national on charges of unlawfully reentering the U.S. after deportation. The suspect, with prior convictions for weapons and drug offenses, faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
Noel Haro, an influential leader of the Border Brothers gang, a large-scale international criminal organization with ties to Nogales, Mexico, was sentenced in federal court in Boston for conspiring to traffic fentanyl and methamphetamine while incarcerated. The Border Brothers gang is heavily involved in drug, weapon, and human trafficking in Southern Arizona.
ICE Boston arrested a 32-year-old Salvadoran national who was unlawfully residing in Lynn after previously being deported in 2014. The individual was indicted on one count of unlawful reentry of a deported alien and faces up to two years in prison if convicted.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested a 24-year-old Salvadoran national and documented MS-13 gang member who had been illegally residing in the United States for nearly nine years. The suspect was apprehended in Brockton in a joint operation with the FBI and is pending removal from the country.
