ICE Buffalo, the IRS’ Criminal Investigation division, FBI Albany and the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Mykola Zhytnichenko, a criminal alien from Ukraine who was wanted for allegedly attempting to murder a police unit chief, narcotics possession, racketeering and organized crime in Binghamton on Feb. 6.
On Jan. 8, ICE deported Kemar Hamilton, a criminal illegal alien from Jamaica convicted of homicide in New York. In 2012, he was arrested for the murder of Edgar McCalla, a 58-year-old Jamaican immigrant with seven children.
The indictment charged 19 members with 29 federal counts, including double murder, murder-for-hire, conspiracy to commit murder, assault with dangerous weapons, armed robbery, kidnapping, sex trafficking and firearms offenses.
Edwin Morones, 23, who formerly resided in Watertown, must also serve a 15-year term of supervised release following his incarceration and will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release.
Two children aged 4 and 2 were killed alongside their parents in Irondequoit, New York, on August 31.
Officers from ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations New York City and U.S. Customs and Border Protection arrested Jose Dimas Guerra Castro, a 53-year-old criminal illegal alien from El Salvador convicted of murder in 2017. ICE and CBP took Guerra into custody after a brief foot pursuit in Hempstead on Jan. 29.
