Lieutenant Colonel Allen West joined Victory News for a wide-ranging conversation about the Electoral College, election administration, foreign policy, energy, free speech, and voter turnout ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

West opens by responding to a proposal to replace the Electoral College with a national popular vote. He defends the state-based constitutional system and discusses the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. The Electoral College was established in Article II of the Constitution and modified by the 12th Amendment; the National Archives provides an official history of the system.

The program also reports on planned Justice Department election monitoring and disputes involving state voter rolls. According to the Justice Department, its Civil Rights Division uses attorneys, staff, and, in eligible jurisdictions, federal observers to assess compliance with federal voting-rights laws.
