Special agents from ICE Homeland Security Investigations working in partnership with officers from the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department arrested an illegal 35-year-old Mexican alien who was previously charged with sex crimes against a Virginia child. Agents and officers arrested David Perez-Teofani, 35, near the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Aug. 20.

An immigration detainer was lodged against Mateo-Alberto with the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center; yet the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center did not honor the ICE detainer and released Mateo-Alberto into the community. Fairfax County Commonwealth Attorney Steve Descano dropped a felony charge against a criminal illegal alien charged with strangulation and kidnapping.
