New Normal: Wisconsin Cops Caught On Camera Threatening Mom For Letting Child Play With Neighbor

The Calumet County Sheriff’s Department in Wisconsin is under scrutiny for a viral video that shows two of its deputies aggressively threatening a woman whose daughter was playing at the neighbor’s house and “running around barefoot.” (The barefoot comments can be seen in the longer version of the video here.) In the video, the deputies can be heard badgering a woman for allowing her daughter to play with neighbor children.

Guns, fish and liberties are good to go in one California county

Unlike the Governor of Michigan who uses a top-down tyrannical approach to shutting down local industries, this CA county gets it right. In Del Norte County, local officials have made their COVID-19 decisions ... locally ... and deemed fishing and hunting essential, and decided that banning guns and fishing rods does nothing to halt the spread of a virus. Well done, Del Norte. We hope other officials take notice.

Free exercise of religion cannot catch COVID-19

In a month of religious observances for Christians, Jews and Muslims, AG Bill Barr again shows his willingness to fight for religious liberty where it is NOT found. The left's hostility toward people of faith is not new, but liberals using a virus as a reason to tamp down freedom to worship is. As faith leaders find innovative ways to meet that pose no threat to viral spread, local authorities have no business ticketing people in cars during drive-in services, for example. We are glad that our AG agrees.

It may be your home but you can’t live in it during COVID-19

Yet another liberty to take a hit during COVID-19 is property rights. Just as MI governor Whitmer blocks home owners from their second home-cabin-trailer up north in Michigan, the government of North Carolina is telling owners of beach homes that they can't live in their own residences. It is unlikely that either state will be sending rebates to home owners who can't access homes on which they pay taxes.

Maybe we should move Michigan’s Governor to the “closed” section

Calling Gretchen Whitmer "the worst Governor in America" while many governors are overstepping lawful and moral boundaries while blaming a deadly virus is quite a "compliment." This American Spectator piece details why so many are calling her restrictions, "insane." Michiganders, pick up your modern pitchforks (Letters to the Editor, emails to your Governor and legislators) and let everyone know the Governor's bridge is way too far.
