Peter Ferrara: Obama and the CIA: Making the Terrorists' Day

By |2009-09-02T09:05:18-04:00September 2nd, 2009|

President Obama has decided that the CIA is a greater threat to America than Al Qaeda and Islamic terrorism. If that decision turns out to be wrong, with thousands of Americans dying in another terrorist attack, President Obama and the Democrat Party will end up paying a grievous political price, which would be well deserved.

Matthew Vadum: What Does the 'A' Really Stand For?

By |2009-09-01T18:19:44-04:00September 1st, 2009|

In 1917, Roger Baldwin, founder of the ACLU, wrote in a letter on political strategy to journalist Louis Lochner…

“Do steer away from making it look like a Socialist enterprise… We want to look like patriots in everything we do. We want to get a lot of flags, talk a good deal about the Constitution and what our forefathers wanted to make of this country, and show that we are really the folks that really stand for the spirit of our institutions.”

In a 1934 article, Baldwin wrote “dictatorship” would be necessary “while the job of reorganizing society on a socialist basis is being […]

September 1, 1939. Seventy years ago, the Second World War began in Europe. German troops crossed the Polish border. German airplanes bombed fleeing civilians. This unprovoked attack prompted Britain and France--after an agonizing delay--to keep their commitment to Poland and declare war on Hitler.

The Other Voting Right: Protecting Every Citizen's Vote by Safeguarding the Integrity of the Ballot Box

By |2020-04-23T21:59:34-04:00September 1st, 2009|

There is a saying that "people get the government they vote for." The implication of the maxim is that if undesirable or unwise legislation is enacted, if executive branch officials are inept or ineffective, or if the government is beset with widespread corruption, then such unfortunate results are the consequence of the electorate's decision regarding whom to trust with the powers and prestige of public office. The Constitution does not forbid people from enacting wrongheaded policies. If voters elect leaders that fail them, then the citizenry is saddled with the consequences of its choice until the next election. Such is the reality in a democratic republic. But this argument begs the question of whether voters did in fact elect the individuals who take their oaths of office.

Liberals can't stop talking about "death panels." Sarah Palin introduced the term on her Facebook page to describe the likelihood that faceless Obamacare bureaucrats would decide people's fates. Predictably, Mrs. Palin is being assailed from every corner of the media for providing the catch phrase for what everyone else is thinking.

ObamaCare needs a crash cart. It's so ominous that President Barack Obama is partnering with God and the God-squad to keep the American people from pulling the plug.

John Armor: A Spy 'Outing' Game for Real; Gitmo Lawyers Seek to Publish Photos of CIA Operatives

By |2009-08-26T16:33:17-04:00August 26th, 2009|

The Associated Press reported Friday that lawyers for certain Guantanamo Bay detainees have possibly violated federal criminal law by releasing the identity of CIA covert operatives. The current Justice Department investigation connects to both the Valerie Plame matter a few years ago, and the current issue of where and how Guantanamo Bay detainees should be charged and tried. First, the Plame Affair. According to the mainstream media, that was about the "outing" of a CIA "covert operative" in violation of federal law.

Independence Pass, Colorado - At 12,095 feet, this breathtaking portal on State Highway 82 to Aspen is open only from Memorial Day to October, when the snow starts flying. Depending on your worldview, the majestic mountains here at the Continental Divide are spectacular proof that God is the master Creator or just another reason to bash humans.

ACLU Seeking to Put School Officials in Jail for Praying

By |2009-08-18T11:18:11-04:00August 18th, 2009|

A small school district in Florida made the mistake of bargaining with the ACLU when it sued them about prayer in schools. Now, under a consent decree written by the ACLU but signed by a federal judge, three school administrators are threatened with criminal trials and convictions for violating that order, by engaging in protected speech which even the US Supreme Court, today, recognizes as protected.

Some of the facts for this article, and some of the legal conclusions, come from an article by Ken Klukowski, an ACRU colleague, published on Fox News as a legal analysis piece on 17 August. It is entitled, “Never Make […]

Ken Klukowski: Never Make a Deal With the Devil About Prayer

By |2020-04-23T21:53:02-04:00August 17th, 2009|

Three Florida school employees will go to federal court on September 17 to see if they'll be thrown behind bars. The reason? Prayer. Their school made a deal with the ACLU to stop praying and this ridiculous situation proves that you can't make a deal with the devil.
