This can’t be a bad precedent, can it? The onerous burden of demanding patrons show their personal medical records will fall on business owners in the nation’s capital beginning January 15. According to Mayor Muriel Bowser (D), proof of vaccination will be required at restaurants, bars, nightclubs, indoor cultural and entertainment facilities, indoor exercise and recreational establishments, and indoor event and meeting establishments starting on January 15th, 2022.

Appeals Court Reinstates Biden’s Vaccine Mandate for Private Businesses

On Friday night the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in a 2-1 ruling reinstated the Biden administration's vaccine mandate for private businesses of 100 or more employees, which overturns a stay from the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. The mandate was set to go into effect on January 4, less than a month away, but had been tied up in the courts since President Joe Biden made the announcement on November 4.

Pennsylvania Supreme Court ends school mask mandate

This decision was handed down by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Dec. 10. It ruled that Acting Health Secretary Allison Beam did not have authority to issue a mask mandate for everyone indoors at schools and child care centers. Pennsylvania Senate President Pro Tempore Jake Corman, a Republican who is running for governor, filed the lawsuit personally, along with other parents.

These United States are in the midst of creating new Congressional maps for the 2022 election. Things don’t look great for the Democrats. Not only did core Democrat states lose population because large numbers of their citizens voted with their feet, but those citizens also ended up in Red States. Making matters worse for the Democrats, in 23 states, the GOP controls the state legislature and the governor’s mansion. The Democrats only have that advantage in 14 states. So while Illinois Democrats can rejoice at forcing arch-conservative Adam Kinzinger from office, Texas gains two seats.
