Months after San Diego County supervisors voted to bar sheriff’s deputies from cooperating with federal immigration officials, the sheriff went before the board this week and stood firm on her decision to continue the limited cooperation she can provide under state law.

An illegal immigrant who was released into the country by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) skipped his immigration hearing just weeks before stabbing a man to death in California.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement along with the FBI, Drug Enforcement Administration and U.S. Probation, conducted a multi-agency operation March 11 targeting the disruption of cartel related narcotics and firearms distribution as well as others identified as criminal threats to the South Lake Tahoe, California community.
A father and son were arrested March 26, for trafficking fentanyl and illegal firearms sales. The investigation was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement assisted by multiple federal and state law enforcement agencies focused on financial crimes in Southern California.
A local area man was sentenced April 15 to six years in federal prison followed by three years of supervised released for smuggling firearms and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations conducted the investigation in this case.
US Border Patrol agents in Arizona encountered and arrested an illegal immigrant convicted of child rape and incest on Monday, as the number of arrests of criminal migrants more than doubles from 2019.

A Glendale man was sentenced March 11 to 38 months in prison for his role in transporting two illegal aliens in March 2024, one of whom suffered fatal injuries after jumping out of the vehicle while it was moving. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement conducted the investigation, assisted by other law enforcement agencies.
A man arrested for child sexual abuse was indicted for naturalization fraud by a federal grand jury in Tucson March 18, following an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
