Welcome to the month of September. For many, this means the end of summer and the beginning of the fall season. With that being said, many, yours truly included, are salivating over the return of college football, albeit with the disastrous policies of NIL, the transfer portal, and now pro football athletes returning back to college.

But for me and American Patriots, September, especially this one, is special because it is Constitution Month. Yes, this September 17th will be the 239th anniversary of the signing of our U.S. Constitution. Of course, it was ratified two years later in 1789. It is imperative that we honor, on this, our 250th anniversary of American Independence, the document that has created the longest continuing Constitutional Republic that the world has ever known. But how can we honor something that we do not study, discuss, or understand?

Imagine the threat to our Constitutional Republic from the American Marxists who have openly declared their angst against our rule of law. They have stated their desire to abolish its framework, and see it as an obstacle to their goal, as Barack Hussein Obama asserted 18 years ago, “fundamental transformation”. So, what should be our response? We have a system of indoctrination in our schools that has followed the tenth plank of Karl Marx: state control of education. We see the man-on-the-street interviews where Americans, young and old, struggle to answer questions about the most basic aspects of governance; heck, they don’t even know what that word means.

Therefore, a dear friend of mine here in the DFW area, a retired Marine veteran, Steve B., shared with me this simple study schedule. We must remember the words of Benjamin Franklin to Mrs. Powel 239 years ago in Philadelphia after the signing of our Constitution. Mrs. Powel asked Franklin, “Well, Doctor, what is it that we have, a monarchy or a Republic?” Franklin’s response is applicable today: “A Republic, if you can keep it.”

Here is your September 1-17 guide to keeping this Republic:

September

1st – 2nd — Study the Articles of Confederation

Note: In Article XI, we offered Canada a seat at the table. After you read the Articles of Confederation, you will see why we needed the U.S. Constitution.

3rd – 5th — Study the Federalist Papers

There are 85 essays, but we are not asking you to read them all. Read 1 (Introduction) and 85 (Concluding Remarks) and these most important essays:

Madison: 10, 51, 39
Hamilton: 70 & 78 and 23 & 68

* If you wish, you can review all 85 titles and use the Federalist Papers as historical reference.

6th — Sunday off. Honor our Judeo-Christian faith heritage and God. And then:

7th — Study the Declaration of Independence.

• Take time to study and understand John Locke’s Natural Rights theory, which our Declaration is based upon and invoked early.
• Focus on the listed grievances, why we declared independence.
• Read each name of the 56 signers and research a few names you do not know about. (Gwinnett County in Georgia is named after a signer from that state, Button Gwinnett)

8th — Study the Preamble of the Constitution.

• Review each sentence & phrase and understand the strategic imperatives of the federal government, which is “the United States.”

9th — Study Article I (Legislative Branch). There are (18) specific enumerated powers to the federal government.

10th — Study Article II (Executive Branch). The only other title for the President is Commander in Chief.

11th — Study Article III (Judicial Branch). The only court the Constitution establishes is the Supreme Court; the courts of lower jurisdiction are established by Congress.

12th — Study Article IV (here is where you will find the Guarantee Clause)

13th — Sunday off.

14th — Study Article V, VI (the Supremacy Clause is found here), & VII

Read the signers’ names. Research a few names you do not know about.

15th — Study the Bill of Rights (1 – 10). Decide for yourself, which is the most important individual right.

16th — Study the remaining Amendments (11 – 27)

17th — Celebrate America. Happy Constitution Day!

It will be interesting to see how many of you will take up this challenge and share it with others. This is not just for this year, but perhaps this will inspire us for years to come. This will prepare us for America 300. And all those who will just discard the Declaration of Independence, the Federalist Papers, and the Constitution, well, those are the useful idiots and mindless lemmings who want to undermine our rule of law. Remember the words from the Preamble: “In order to form a more perfect Union.” That is what America has sought to do over these 250 years, 239 since the Constitution was signed.

Here’s your mission, if you choose to accept it. If you do not, well, then you will get the government that you deserve.
