Brandon Ortiz-Vite, 25, was sentenced to 37 to 100 years in prison for the 2024 murder of his girlfriend Ruby Garcia in Grand Rapids. Following his eventual release from prison, he is expected to be deported to Mexico for a second time, according to Kent County authorities. The sentencing judge told Ortiz-Vite: “You, sir, are a cold blooded murderer… You are a danger to society.”
