U.S. Attorney announces immigration case updates for the Eastern District of Virginia

U.S. Attorney Erik S. Siebert announced updates on 11 immigration enforcement cases in the Eastern District of Virginia, involving individuals who reentered the United States illegally after prior removals and committed additional crimes including drug offenses, DUI, felony child neglect, and sexual assault. The cases reflect the DOJ’s prioritization of criminal immigration prosecutions following executive orders signed on January 20. Several defendants were identified by immigration authorities after arrests for new criminal offenses committed following their unlawful reentry.
