New Mexico man indicted in Texas for drug, firearm, murder charges following ICE El Paso investigation

Jaime Renteria-Fernandez, 31, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, has been charged in a superseding indictment with nine counts related to alleged offenses committed in support of the Barraza drug trafficking organization. Co-conspirator Alex Barraza, the leader of the drug trafficking organization, was previously sentenced to life in federal prison on October 24, 2024. The indictment followed an investigation by ICE El Paso and was announced June 4, 2025.
