As many Democratic-run cities across America resist the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement push, law enforcement agencies in Texas’ two largest cities — Houston and San Antonio — are now alerting ICE whenever they encounter illegal immigrants with federal administrative warrants. Houston Police Department officers are directed to contact ICE upon detecting such individuals and to discuss options for transferring them to federal custody; San Antonio police are following a similar policy, with officers directed via internal email to contact ICE’s Law Enforcement Service Center and request an officer come to the scene to make an arrest.
