U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested Mario Torrez-Lopez, 34, a self-admitted Sureños gang member, in Kansas City after he had been deported four times since 2016 and continued to reenter the country illegally. Torrez-Lopez has a criminal record spanning multiple states, including convictions for resisting arrest, illegal reentry, and other federal offenses. ICE noted that he joined a violent gang while incarcerated and will remain in custody pending court proceedings.
