U.S. and Brazilian authorities coordinated a major enforcement operation to dismantle a transnational smuggling network responsible for moving hundreds of individuals from Brazil through Mexico and into the United States. The operation resulted in the arrest of Flavio Alexandre Alves in Worcester, Massachusetts, who allegedly operated the smuggling conspiracy, while Brazilian Federal Police arrested an additional Brazil-based smuggler.
