Illegal immigrant convicted of shooting at small-town officer in high-speed chase

Eugenio Abraham Solis-Klarks, a 31-year-old Guatemalan national living illegally in the United States, was convicted of first-degree attempted murder and sentenced to 18 years without parole after a January 2025 incident in Tennessee. During a traffic stop on Interstate 75, Solis-Klarks fled at speeds exceeding 100 mph and exchanged gunfire with Highway Patrol Trooper Paul Dubroc, who shot him in the legs before he was taken into custody.
