ICE Houston removes previously deported criminal alien to Mexico convicted of manslaughter

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement removed Orbelin Benitez-Carbajal, a 49-year-old previously deported criminal alien convicted of manslaughter, to Mexico on March 17. Benitez-Carbajal had been convicted of multiple offenses while illegally present in the U.S., including manslaughter in Travis County in 2010, assault in 2006, DWI in 2023, and illegal re-entry in 2024 — having previously been deported to Mexico in December 2014. ICE’s Houston Field Office Director stated that despite serving prison time and a prior deportation, Benitez-Carbajal illegally re-entered the country and continued to commit crimes.
