U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement removed a 29-year-old illegal Brazilian fugitive, Juliano Araujo Dos Santos Silva, who was wanted by authorities to serve more than five years in prison for an armed robbery conviction in his native country. ICE Boston removed him from the United States to Brazil on March 27 and turned him over to Brazilian authorities. A Brazilian criminal court had convicted Araujo of armed robbery with a firearm on Oct. 2, 2017 and sentenced him to five years and four months in prison; he had subsequently entered the United States illegally in 2019 and attempted to evade justice by hiding in New England.
