U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, working with the FBI and Texas Department of Public Safety, arrested Jesus Alberto Escalona-Mujicas, a 47-year-old Venezuelan national and documented Tren de Aragua gang member, during targeted enforcement operations in Bryan, Texas on April 9, 2025. Escalona-Mujicas had illegally entered the country and absconded before his court-ordered removal could be executed in March 2024. He was taken into ICE custody pending removal proceedings.
