ICE apprehended Noel Hernandez Leon, a 50-year-old Mexican national, upon his release from Fishkill Correctional Facility in New York on April 17, 2025. Hernandez had been convicted of first and second-degree murder and first-degree robbery in Brooklyn in 1996 and sentenced to 20 years to life; an immigration judge had previously ordered his removal in 1999. He is currently detained at Buffalo Federal Detention Facility awaiting deportation to Mexico.
