Jose Mejia-Carranza, a 37-year-old Honduran national, was indicted by a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Texas for illegally reentering the United States after being deported in October 2023. He was located in Sherman, Texas in August 2024 and now faces up to 20 years in federal prison if convicted.
