Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott reaffirmed his office’s cooperation with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement following community protests over the county’s ICE detention contract. The Greene County Jail holds up to 300 beds designated for ICE detainees, with the county receiving payment for each individual housed. Sheriff Arnott stated he remains committed to the arrangement and is willing to engage with advocacy groups opposed to the contract.
