3 Deported Convicts Charged With Reentering U.S. After Crimes

Three individuals previously deported from the United States have been charged with illegally reentering the country after committing serious crimes. Luis Gerardo Gomez-Esteban, 35, was deported in 2019 following a child molestation conviction in Washington state and now also faces charges for failing to register as a sex offender upon return; Jose Alfredo Ojeda-Garcia, 33, had been removed three separate times after multiple sexual conduct convictions in Minnesota. Sotero Ortiz-Sanchez, 37, was originally deported in 2009 following an attempted burglary conviction in Nebraska and is charged with illegal reentry.
