Sameer Chandulal Patel, a 30-year-old Indian national from Iowa City, was sentenced to 210 months in federal prison for receipt and distribution of child pornography. Patel had distributed, received, and possessed over 18,000 images and 14,000 videos of child sexual abuse material from 2016 to 2021. Following his imprisonment, Patel was ordered to serve five years of supervised release unless he is deported from the United States.
