Illinois Sanctuary Law Under Fire

The Immigration Reform Law Institute filed a brief in an Illinois federal district court challenging Illinois’ TRUST Act, which bars state law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration authorities. The federal government has sued the state, arguing the law violates the supremacy of federal law by forbidding local agencies from sharing information about aliens in custody.
