Mexican National with Multiple Drug Felonies Indicted for Trafficking Methamphetamine and Illegal Reentry After Being Deported Four Times

A federal grand jury has charged Enrique Gonzalez Jacobo, 59, of Mexico, with attempting to possess methamphetamine with intent to distribute and being an illegal alien after prior deportation. Jacobo was arrested in Hilo, Hawaii in July 2024 while attempting to claim a package containing over 5 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in a stuffed animal. The defendant faces potential life imprisonment, a mandatory minimum of 10 years, and fines up to $10 million if convicted.
