Mexican National Sentenced to Over 12 Years in Federal Prison for Narcotics, Firearm, and Immigration Charges

Juan Carlos Espinoza Lopez, a 49-year-old Mexican national who had been deported from the United States four times, was sentenced to 151 months in federal prison for drug trafficking and firearm offenses. Espinoza Lopez pleaded guilty to possessing with intent to distribute methamphetamine and heroin and illegal possession of an assault rifle while in the country illegally. Officers discovered approximately 188.5 grams of methamphetamine, 206 grams of heroin, and a loaded Colt AR-15 rifle during a search of his Hawaii residence.
