Mexican Drug Cartel Leader Extradited to Georgia to Face Federal Charges

Omar Cuenca-Marino, the alleged leader of the Los Rojos Mexican Drug Cartel, was arraigned on federal charges including conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin into the United States, and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Between 2013 and 2016, Cuenca-Marino oversaw the smuggling of thousands of kilograms of drugs from Mexico into the U.S.
