Jose Antonio Ibarra, a Venezuelan national in the U.S. illegally, has been charged with malice murder and other offenses in the death of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old Augusta University nursing student found dead on the University of Georgia campus in Athens. Ibarra was arrested after being identified through security camera footage and other evidence.
