Mexican National Sentenced to 40 Months in Prison for Role in Smuggling and Labor Trafficking Scheme

Apolinar Francisco Paredes Espinoza, 58, a citizen of Mexico, was sentenced to 40 months in prison for his role in a scheme to smuggle Mexican nationals into the U.S., harbor them at Hartford area residences, and force them to work under threat of harm. Investigators identified 19 victims, including minors.
