ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA (August 4, 2014)—Susan A. Carleson, President of the American Civil Rights Union (ACRU), announced the appointment of Mike Korbey as Managing Director of the organization.

The ACRU was founded in 1999 by the late Robert B. Carleson, recognized as the architect of modern welfare reform. Since that time, it has defended the civil rights of all Americans by filing influential amicus briefs in landmark civil rights cases. Its current focus is restoring the integrity of our electoral process and it is the only organization to have successfully sued counties to force the cleanup of voter registration rolls to prevent vote fraud.

Mike Korbey has been a leader in the conservative movement for decades. He has worked with a number of public policy organizations and has held senior executive positions in the administrations of Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush.

Carleson said Korbey’s extensive experience will greatly benefit ACRU as it expands its operations to ensure honest elections in America.

“Mike Korbey’s outstanding management, public affairs, and leadership abilities will help the ACRU become an even more potent force for protecting the civil rights of all Americans by publicly advancing a constitutional understanding of our essential rights and freedoms,” she said.
