
ACLU Defends High School Boy Who Dresses as a Girl

Despite a Pace, Florida high school dress code that requires “students whose personal attire distracts other students shall make alterations before entering the classroom,” the ACLU is defending a boy who chooses to wear a dress to school. The dress code prohibits, among other things, girls showing their midriffs and boys wearing muscle-shirts. Loud hair colors are also not allowed.
ACLU regional director Susan Watson said, “The ACLU is speaking out on this issue to make sure that students have the right (to cross-dress)…”
