Chances are if you say the word "Florida" to a progressive socialist leftist they will go into a frothing apoplectic rage. Now, I live in Texas and I wish that saying "Texas" would do the same, but perhaps that is the topic of another missive. Under the leadership of Governor Ron DeSantis, the State of Florida has truly become a thorn in the side of leftists. How dare anyone stand up to the left's agenda, and not capitulate to some doggone woke corporate fascist oligarch, like a Disney.
The federal rule that requires air travelers to wear face masks, which the Transportation Security Administration first imposed more than a year ago, was scheduled to expire this Friday. But the TSA extended the requirement for at least another month, for reasons that are even harder to understand than the original rationale for the mask mandate.
According to Voice of San Diego, regulators from the DSS isolated children as young as 1 to interview them about the school's masking policies. Parents are understandably upset by the state's action.
A judge cleared a father from Rochester, New York, who was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing last spring for not wearing a mask at this son’s outdoor baseball game while he was social distancing. Chad Hummel, an attorney, was facing up to 90 days in jail and professional licensing consequences; he was acquitted last week after a four-hour bench trial before Judge Joseph J. Valentino.
Calling suspending children for not wearing masks “unreasonable, heavy-handed, and simply harsh,” a Loudoun County judge issued an order Wednesday evening that Loudoun County Public Schools must allow children to attend school without a mask starting Thursday.
In a decisive victory for parental rights, a Loudoun County, VA, judge ended a pattern of genuinely appalling behavior by the Loudoun Country School Board. Enforcing a mask mandate against state Executive Order, the board has been responsible for suspending and shaming students, placing them in solitary confinement, and imposing all manner of strict penalties on students and parents.
Maskless Middle School Student Placed in Solitary Confinement Enlists American Constitutional Rights Union to Fight Back
Young Isabella Koons was placed in solitary confinement every school day for a week after exercising her right to adhere to Virginia Governor Youngkin’s Executive Order Number Two, allowing students to attend school without wearing masks. Loudon County District officials suspended Isabella when she and her parents were not sufficiently intimidated out of exercising their rights, as expressed in Governor Youngkin’s Order. The suspension is for an indefinite period, to be lifted only once Isabella agrees to wear a mask in school. The School District has threatened that if Isabella is found on any property belonging to the Loudoun County School District (i.e., the taxpayers of Loudoun County), she will be arrested and charged criminally with trespassing.
In a move that will shock precisely no one, the Super Bowl was chock full of luxury sky boxes stuffed with maskless politicians and celebs, clearly immune to COVID. Of course, the mask mandates are still in full force in the Republik, so those very same “thought leaders” continue to demand our children go to school masked, inside and out. Surprised? We aren’t.
On Friday night, in an emergency ruling, Sonia Sotomayor rejected the appeal without comment, allowing the terminations to move forward. At least for now, that appears to be the end of the saga.
