There are two definitions of the word invasion. The first is "an instance of invading a country or region with an armed force.” That is happening in Ukraine. The second definition of an invasion is "an incursion of a large number of people or things into a place of sphere of activity." That is happening here in America. It seems unbelievable that so many are asking for legal opinions and articulations of something so very simple.
Last week the Biden Administration announced it would be ending the Title 42 Covid restrictions on illegal immigrants. I find this to be very ironic as the Governor of Texas just renewed the Covid emergency declaration on 23 March. It would appear illegals have more rights than law-abiding Texas citizens. However, what is quite unconstitutional is the Biden administration's abdication of their constitutional duty under the "Guarantee Clause", Article IV, Section 4. The federal government is charged to protect every state in the union from invasion. And there can be no debate when millions are entering our nation illegally. This is not an immigration issue, it is indeed an invasion.
ACRU’s Von Spakovsky: Biden’s immigration order – this is how policy will hide crimes, ignore victims
On his first day in the Oval Office, President Biden signed a record 17 executive orders, many of them voiding commonsense policies enacted during the Trump administration. One of the worst – and most dangerous – was his "Revision of Civil Immigration Enforcement Policies and Priorities." A more apt title would be "Providing Sanctuary for Criminal Aliens."
We are sure you agree with ACRU that ICE agents are tireless heroes defending our border, citizens and legal residents from illegal aliens, particularly, criminal illegal aliens. Despite this, ICE is endlessly vilified in the liberal press. During the COVID-19 crisis, and as of this writing, ICE has stepped up and flown 466+ U.S. citizens back to safety from South America. ICE agents, you are the good guys, and we salute you.
We missed this article when it first posted back in December, but it is important enough to bring it to your attention today. It is a perfect explanation of how sanctuary policy leads to illegal immigrants receiving driver’s licenses and then being registered to vote accidentally on purpose and then voting and negating the vote of a legal voter. As this article points out, immigration is NOT a state issue, but actually falls under enumerated powers granted by the Constitution to the federal executive. New York is pointedly and aggressively breaking federal laws with one of its newest provisions requiring its DMV to notify illegal immigrants that ICE is after them, rather than the other way around.
New York City's unlawful and dangerous sanctuary city policy and refusal to cooperate with ICE detainers continues to collect victims. The latest list of crimes by criminal illegal aliens called out by ICE include a 92 year old woman raped and murdered on the street. Also, nine (alleged) criminal most recently released by Mayor de Blasio and his fellow liberals have a laundry list of crimes including: robbery, assault, harassment, weapons charges, assault with a vehicle and resisting arrest. These are just a few of the violent illegal aliens let loose on the legal residents of New York City. As with the Chicago story above, NYC's corrupt political class is turning its citizens into victims. Until they vote these irresponsible officials out of office they are all going to be at serious physical risk.
The title of this article (above) says it all. Although we enjoy writing quippy summaries for our Advocate readers, it is difficult to expand on the headline. But we will give it a try - last year Chicago had 490 murders and nearly 2,200 shootings. The list of illegal alien violent crime is long. The FBI has reported that many of the guns available to Chicago criminals come over our southern border illegally, boxed up with cocaine, meth and marijuana, and given to street drug thugs for entrepreneurial enforcement (sarcasm) as Chicago is a hub for drug traffickers. Chicago is refusing not just to honor ICE detainers, but also refusing access to its criminal database. Chicago's corrupt political class is turning its citizens
8/22: The latest claims against the Trump administration over its enforcement of the “public charge” provision in federal immigration law are nonsensical.
7/23: ACRU Policy Board Member Hans von Spakovsky and Cully Stimson offer an idea of how to deal with the overwhelming case backlog facing immigration courts.
7/15: An important principle of our legal system is that no one in this country—including members of Congress—is above the law.
