Writing to Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and FSU President John Thrasher, Sabatini said students in the College of Music “are being forced to show proof of vaccination before the Fall semester begins in violation of Florida law.” DeSantis recently signed legislation barring corporations or government entities from requiring a vaccination as a condition to receive a service or do business.
Governor Kim Reynolds has signed a bill into law that will prevent the use of "vaccine passports" as proof of COVID-19 vaccination, a ban she has pushed for since April.
American Constitutional Rights Union (ACRU) President Lori Roman has written an op ed which defends college students across America who are pushing back against mandatory COVID testing and vaccinations. ACRU is partnering with Young Americans for Liberty student leader Sara Razi, a Rutgers University Junior, as well as other student groups.
Politicians and bureaucrats have decided that they can wave a magic “COVID” wand and make constitutional rights disappear. College students have been among those hit hardest by the edicts. Many students have been forced to choose between medical choice and privacy and their continued education.
On behalf of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, I am writing to ask you to reconsider your new policy mandating COVID-19 vaccination of students prior to returning to campus.[i] Institutions of higher learning are divided on this issue.[ii] ,[iii] Although, at first glance, the policy may seem prudent, it coerces students into bearing unneeded and unknown risk and is at heart contrary to the bedrock medical principle of informed consent.
