Past famed ACLU attorneys are speaking out that the organization has caved to "cancel culture" and joined the censorious, authoritarian left. Since 2016, the ACLU has embraced the anti-Trump resistance with numerous campaigns, such as partisan efforts to accuse Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault and label all police officers as white supremacists.
Deeply illiberal mobs of so-called “progressive, anti-racists” have escaped our nation’s college and university campuses and threaten many other institutions, including museums, sports and entertainment, corporations like Coca-Cola, and even our elementary, middle, and high schools.
Who would have expected Mr. Bean to be the oracle of anti-cancel culture wisdom, but in a recent interview, British actor Rowan Atkinson brilliantly noted the absurd dangers of allowing a one-sided, biased algorithm created by liberal control freaks to decide who wins or loses within society. Mr. Bean may have been canceled, but Mr. Atkinson clearly has not.
"Cancel culture” is a double entendre of the dangerous kind. It is not just about canceling individuals or entities who offend leftist activists and their myopic group of minions; it is about fundamentally canceling America.
