Unlike the Governor of Michigan who uses a top-down tyrannical approach to shutting down local industries, this CA county gets it right. In Del Norte County, local officials have made their COVID-19 decisions ... locally ... and deemed fishing and hunting essential, and decided that banning guns and fishing rods does nothing to halt the spread of a virus. Well done, Del Norte. We hope other officials take notice.

The historically deficient California Department of Motor Vehicles has encountered yet another stumbling block on its way to compliance with the 1993 National Voter Registration Act. On behalf of the DMV, the state Finance Director sent a letter last week to the Joint Legislative Budget Committee requesting and authorizing another $2.2 million to “help meet the deadlines.”
